Paraglid airThe preparation period was finally over and I am was confident that our setup would work. I chose the Gradient Aspen 2 freestyle 20m2, delivered by ParaglidAir, for the event.

The Helmet cam film is uploaded to YouTube.

My friend Riaan was chasing me with Andrew in his trike. This is his extended film

Ready for Take off

Take-off following a 30 minutes climb where 3 cameras fails! Luckily we had a backup cam in the chase trike. (you always need a backup plan)

At 8700f, we are well above the CU´s and the scenery was amazing! The climb/exit out of the dragonfly went 100% according to the plan. And I am getting ready to pull the action pin.

Waiting for the glider to open........ 90deg twist to the left due to wind catching my feet ( The hang point were 10deg to the left) The canopy opened very fast and the adrenaline was pumping:)

7800f of acro fun on the way down over one of the flattest places on earth. What a brilliant way of getting proper acro height.

Special thanks to:

  • Kieron Nieuwoudt
  • Andrew (Trike pilot)
  • Sid (Dragon fly Pilot)
  • Shaun
  • And the rest:D
